The launch party, High Five for Breastfeeding was the building block that expanded The Capital Area Breastfeeding Coalition. The Coalition gained the attention of legislators, parents and other professionals who joined our group to help increase rate and duration of breastfeeding among mid-Michigan families.

Capital Area Breastfeeding Coalition is comprised of health professionals, activists, legislators, parents, and breastfeeding supporterswho would like to see more babies breastfed, and more support for mothers who do.

Join us. If you’re for happy babies, we’d love to have you on our team!

Why?
Michigan is on the cusp of being only the 4th state to consider breastfeeding in public as a civil right, and we need to support pending legislation.

Michigan also needs to improve our initiation, and our sustainabilty rates of
breastfeeding for the health of all our babies.
